Kristin Smart: Part 1

This week, we're veering away slightly from our regular cases and talking about a huge story in the true crime world: the disappearance of Kristin Smart. Kristin was a 19-year-old freshman at Cal Poly in 1996 when she went missing after a party over Memorial Day weekend. Though a suspect was quickly identified, early investigative mistakes and a lack of physical evidence has left this case unsolved for nearly 25 years. In part one, we're summarizing Kristin's disappearance and the investigation. Next week, we'll get you up to date with all of the breaking news in this case and the Smart family's quest for justice for their oldest child.
