In December 2022, 19-year-old Kadin McKallaster Black vanished from Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, leaving his family and the community grappling with unanswered questions. Kadin was a bright, athletic teenager with boundless energy. Growing up in Pennsylvania, he was surrounded by a loving family—his parents, Kara and Maurice, and two brothers, Jordan and Carter. But beneath the surface of this seemingly typical life, Kadin’s path was anything but easy.

Kadin’s Challenges: Mental Health and School Struggles

Kadin’s youth was marked by a passion for sports. Football, track, BMX, and even boxing provided outlets for his high energy. Yet, he faced emotional challenges, often struggling with anger and frustration. In high school, he was diagnosed with autism and Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD).

Moving to Maryland was supposed to offer a fresh start, but Kadin longed to return to Pennsylvania. When he moved back at 18, the school conflicts continued, and Kadin found himself in an alternative school after repeated fights.

The Turning Point: A School Van Incident

In April 2022, Kadin had a confrontation on a school van. Kadin switched seats against the driver’s instructions, sparking an argument that escalated into physical violence. He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. This marked the beginning of deeper legal troubles, including a brief stint in jail, which only heightened his struggles.

A Troubled Summer and Mental Health Crisis

Following his release on bail, Kadin’s relationship with his father grew strained, leading to an involuntary mental health hold in June 2022. Despite help from family friend Chris Foust, who provided Kadin with a place to stay, his mental health continued to spiral. Although he started a lawn care business and planned to get his GED, by December, Kadin’s emotional state had deteriorated further.

The Disappearance

On December 17, 2022, Kadin disappeared. He was last seen at a gas station after borrowing Foust’s car to cash a paycheck. That night, he was restless, but made plans to see his father the next day. He didn’t make it to his father’s house, and he was never seen again. Despite a search, including nearby areas and the Susquehanna River, no trace of Kadin has been found.

Searching for Answers

Kadin’s disappearance remains an open case, with his family desperate for closure. Was it foul play, or did Kadin decide to leave on his own? His loved ones are still searching for the truth, hoping someone will come forward with information.
