Episode 422: Claudia Kirschhoch
Claudia Kirschhoch traveled for a living. The 29-year-old writer had her dream job at Frommer’s Travel Guide, her own apartment in Astoria, Queens, and her entire life in front of her. But when a planned travel junket got rerouted to Negril, Jamaica, the trajectory of Claudia’s life changed.
Claudia spent the first few days of her trip lounging, dancing, and making friends at Negril’s Beaches Resort. On the afternoon of May 27, 2000, she donned her bikini, grabbed her portable radio, and headed down to the beach. She never returned. Claudia’s parents launched a quest to find their daughter but were met with lost evidence, lies, and subterfuge. Now, over twenty years later, Claudia still hasn’t been found, and no one has been held responsible– not even the man who lied about being with her in the days leading up to her disappearance.
Anyone with information on the disappearance of Claudia Kirschhoch is asked to call the FBI’s Florida Office at 305-944-9101 or the Negril Police Department at 888-991-4000. There is a $50,000 reward in this case.
