Episode 429: Michael Dunahee
It’s been called the most confounding missing children's case in Canadian history. On March 24, 1991, four-year-old Michael Dunahee was with his family at a local elementary school in Victoria, British Columbia, where his mother was playing flag football. He asked if he could go play on the playground, which was right by the football field. Michael’s mother said yes, but that he had to stay right there until his father arrived. But when Michael’s father went to collect the little boy, he was gone.
The game was halted and everyone immediately started looking for Michael, but found no trace of him. Over the next three decades, many theories would be bandied about, running the gamut from an abduction by a family who wanted to raise a child, to a Satanic ritual, but to this day, Michael remains missing. What happened to Michael Dunahee?
Anyone with information on the disappearance of Michael Dunahee is urged to call Detective Don Bland with the Victoria Police at 250-995-7654. You can also submit a tip at https://michaeldunahee.ca.
